Department of the Army authorizes field deployment
of TC-AIMS increment  III for Spring—2008

Dallas, TX – January 1, 2008 The Department of the Army announced today that it has authorized field deployment of TC-AIMS increment III for Spring, 2008.
TC-AIMS assists war-fighters in rapidly identifying unit equipment and personnel necessary to support Combatant Commander requirements.

The system is integrated with installation, unit and depot-level supply systems to manage inbound and outbound movement, document and requisition information.
TC-AIMS II is capable of supporting routine and surge requirements and automates origin shipping/receiving and deployment; sustainment and redeployment/retrograde processes; produces movement documentation (including forms required by foreign nations); unit move data; and furnishes timely information to major commands, transportation component commands, such as the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and the joint deployment community.

As a Department of Defense (DoD) source movement information system, TC-AIMS II provides data for In-Transit Visibility (ITV) and control over cargo and passenger movement. TC-AIMS increment III was built on Apptricity's service-oriented architecture (SOA). It utilizes Apptricity's Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management and Graphical Asset Tracking applications.
