1. The first step is to log onto the mobile application for Apptricity Expense. Here you will see several menu options that will allow you to create expense reports on the go. For uploading receipts you will want to enable the “Quick Capture Receipt” menu option.
2. The next step is the image capture. When enabling “Quick Capture Receipt” through the mobile application, it will automatically activate your mobile camera. From there you simply take a photo of the receipt. It will provide you with options to retake, rotate or enhance the quality of your photo receipts. You can also save the photo of your receipt if you simply want to take a picture of the receipt to upload to an expense report after your next meeting. This allows you to get rid of those receipts you’ve been collecting in your pocket.
3. Upon receipt capture, Expense will automatically turn that photo of the receipt into an unassigned expense item. This is where the OCR technology kicks in. OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, is the technology that automatically converts scanned files into editable files. This technology makes expenses easier than ever! From this simple picture of your receipt, the data is pulled and automatically uploaded into the expense item, so you don’t have to enter in any of the information yourself.
It’s as easy as it sounds. Open the app, snap the picture, it’s automatically uploaded and voila! Your expense item has been created. With the mobile application, expense reporting has become efficient, easy, and yes, fun! Who doesn’t love cool technology!
