Some of you out there might be asking, what exactly is Zonal Tracking and Geofencing? First and foremost, they’re the two newest features to Apptricity’s Asset Management software. With our latest update release, Asset 7.5, we’ve outdone not only the competition but also ourselves.
Basically, Zonal Tracking allows our customers to track their assets within buildings, on specific floors and even rooms on those floors and pinpoints them within inches of their location. Other companies will give you the GPS coordinates but only Apptricity allows you real-time visibility with greater detail. Simply upload the floor map, drop a pin and you’re ready to start tracking your assets between floors and rooms.
Geofencing is exactly what it sounds like and is a way for our clients to keep their assets within a defined area. Set the boundaries on the map and you will be notified if/when your items leave that designated geofence. This is ideal for clients that have a specific worksite or location for assets or inventory. Geofencing will cut down on items “walking off” or being “misplaced”.
We’ve even updated the Asset Map from our previous version 7.0 to make it that much more customizable. Our goal is to make a product that works for you. You’ll now be able to color code your asset markers on the map by asset category as well as having an asset count to display the amount of assets per category. This is an asset list on steroids.
